Announcements from Alaga and What's new
Updated
On this page
Alaga uses a slim bar at the top of every page to tell you things that matter to your business. It shows on every page of your dashboard, not just the home page.
What the bar can say
- Outage (red): something in Alaga isn't working right now. We're on it.
- Known issue (amber): a problem we know about and are fixing.
- Maintenance (amber): planned work, with the time window shown in your business's timezone.
- New feature (teal): something new or improved.
- Update (grey): general news from Alaga.
You only see announcements meant for you. Some go to every business; others only to, for example, kennels, businesses that take payments with Square, or owners and managers.
Click Read more to open the full announcement. For known issues and outages it shows the Latest update from our team. For maintenance it shows When.
If more than one announcement is waiting, the bar shows the most important one first. Use the arrows to see the others.
Dismiss an announcement
Click the X on the bar, or Don't show again in the full announcement. It's hidden for you only. Everyone else at your business still sees it until they dismiss it too. It stays hidden on any device you sign in on.
An outage can't be dismissed while it's happening. It goes away when we mark it fixed.
What's new
Open Help (the life-ring icon at the top of the screen) and click the What's new tab. It lists:
- Service status: known issues and outages affecting your business, with their latest update, plus any maintenance coming up. Fixed issues show as Resolved for two weeks.
- New in Alaga: feature news from the last few months, newest first.
Dismissing the bar never removes anything from What's new.
Ask Alaga knows about known issues
If Ask Alaga is switched on for your business and you ask about a problem we've already announced, it tells you we're aware and shares the latest update instead of walking you through troubleshooting. You can still ask it to connect you with a person.
Emails about announcements
For planned maintenance, outages and big new features, Alaga may also email business owners. These emails come from Alaga, not from your business, and your clients never get them.
