Controlling which emails Alaga sends

Updated

On this page

Alaga sends email to your clients on your behalf — booking confirmations, reminders, invoices, vaccination alerts. Two layers decide whether any given message goes out.

Layer 1: your business switches

My Account in the sidebar has a Client Email Notifications card, visible to owners and managers. Three switches:

SwitchCovers
Booking confirmationsConfirmations, cancellations, check-in and check-out emails for appointments and stays
Appointment remindersThe automatic 24-hour and 2-hour reminders
Follow-up and review emailsThe "we missed you" email after a no-show, and review requests

Turning one off stops that category for every client of your business. Turning it on hands the decision to the individual client.

Invoices, payment receipts, vaccination alerts and account email are never affected by these switches. Those either have to go out or are controlled elsewhere.

Layer 2: the client's own preference

Each client can opt out of appointment confirmations, reminders, vaccination alerts and message notifications for themselves. A client opt-out is respected even when your business switch is on.

What your clients see as the sender

Business Settings, Email Settings shows a Sending Identity card:

  • From name — your business name. Change it by renaming your business under Business Profile.
  • From address — Alaga's verified sending domain. Sending from your own domain is not available yet, so the name is what your clients recognise.
  • Reply-to — your business email address, so replies reach you rather than disappearing. If it says "Not set", add a business email under Business Profile.

The Delivery Log

Email Settings has a Delivery Log tab listing the last 100 emails for your business, with the type, recipient, subject, status and any error. This is the first place to look when a client says they never received something.

If emails have failed recently, a red banner appears at the top of Email Settings with the count and the most recent reason. If it says email sending is switched off for the deployment, no transactional email is leaving the system at all — contact Alaga support.

Editing the emails themselves

The Transactional Emails tab lists every automated email with a preview and an editor, and the Branding Preview tab shows how your logo and colours appear in them.

Your own account

Also under My Account: your name and phone, dark mode, changing your password, and two-factor authentication for owners and managers. Your login email cannot be changed here.
